"I've been to visit my Uncle and cousin and friends who lived at Toney Rest Home for several years. It is a very caring and beneficial place for many people to be cared for."

History:

Toney Rest Home was the very first assisted living facility in Granville County. The facility was originally build in the 1930's as a rural hospital but was converted into assisted living in the 1960's.

The name of the facility is dedicated to Dr. Toney, the first black doctor to work at the original hospital.  Ever since then Toney Rest Home has become a staple of the community.

City of Oxford:

Oxford is conveniently located just north of the Research Triangle and immediately adjacent to Interstate 85 at the intersection of US Highways 15 and 158 and NC 96.  Durham is 25 miles to the southwest and Raleigh is 33 miles to the south.

Not only does Oxford's small town feeling makes one feel at home but the town itself is also very historic, as the first Masonic orphanage for children in the United States is located here and still operational.
